Liz Dawson

Owner & Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Liz Dawson graduated with a BAppSci HMS in 2009. Having previously graduating with a BComm in 2002, Liz relished in business as much as exercise prescription. Within her first year she completed her level 1 & 2 mat and small apparatus Pilates qualifications with Pilates Institute of Queensland.
Liz has extensive experience and a passion for Chronic disease, weight management, paediatrics and Women’s health.
In 2009 Liz founded Kids Heart Pilates a paediatric program that she still runs throughout Queensland and now runs an ESSA accredited course ‘Child Development & Paediatric Programming’ for other Allied health practitioners.
In 2014 Liz took on the reigns of Northside Allied Health and proudly opened their very own private clinic in 2021.

Josh Massingham

National Clinical Manager & Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Josh is a lean, mean (not that mean) supreme part of the Caboolture South team, holding a Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology, he is Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a special interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Josh is passionate about empowering and educating clients, providing the guidance they need to improve quality of life by making healthy lifestyle decision. Josh has been with NAH since 2016 and loves the friendly vibe amongst the team and the spill on effect this has within the client community. The one thing Josh couldn’t live without is the love and support of his amazing friends and family.

Marissa Lee

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Marissa is another passionate member of the Northside Allied Health Caboolture South Team. Holding a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movements) she has been practicing as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist since 2007. Marissa has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injury and rehabilitation and enjoys working with elderly and stroke patients. She is passionate about helping people improve their overall health and wellbeing so they can live fulfilled lives. Marissa has a few favourite thing, one being her family and the second enjoying their company with great Italian food. Marissa loves being part of the Northside Allied Health team and thoroughly enjoys helping people from all walks of life achieve their health and wellness goals.

Matthew Gaffney

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Matthew joined the Northside Allied Health Team in 2021 and is based in Caboolture South. Graduating with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (2020) and Bachelor of Exercise Science (2020). Matt has previous experience working alongside a clientele to treat Cardiovascular, Metabolic, Respiratory and Musculoskeletal conditions with targeted exercise therapy. He also has additional experience working with clients with Traumatic brain injuries, stroke, spinal cord injuries and intellectual disabilities. He is passionate about, working alongside individuals with neurological conditions to improve quality of life, strength, gait, and overall fitness using unique exercise interventions. Matt is also well versed in the realm of hydrotherapy and he has seen firsthand the benefit it has in client’s wellbeing. For Matt, the best part about being an Exercise Physiologist is being a helping hand in the journey to achieving client goals as well as building strong relationships. Outside of being an Exercise Physiologist Matt enjoys playing team sports, snorkelling, and bushwalking.

Steve Farmer

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

After a long working background in mechanical trades and the defence forces, Steve began his Exercise Physiology career later in life. The injuries he sustained whilst on active service with 2nd cav regiment made his former career untenable. Following multiple spinal surgeries and expert rehabilitation by his treating surgeons and the team at Northside allied health, Steve developed a passion for medicinal exercise. Throughout the completion of his Clinical Exercise Physiology degree, he developed an interest in the neurology of chronic pain syndromes and biomechanics pertaining to functional movement patterns. Steve’s goal in this position is to educate and aid clients in the realisation that movement is the best medicine.

Mikayla Martin

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Mikayla has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) in 2022. She has had a lifelong interest in exercise and sports and this passion for leading an active lifestyle is what motivated her to pursue a career in exercise physiology. Mikayla strongly believes that ‘Exercise is medicine’ and loves using this approach to help clients make positive behaviour changes to get back to living the life they desire. Mikayla has a particular interest in chronic disease management specifically diabetes, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and older adult health and wellbeing. Mikayla’s interests outside work include running and playing AFL, spending time at the beach, and drinking coffee with friends.

Jessica Baron

Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD)

Jess has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Dietetics (Honours) in 2022. As a dietitian she uses evidence-based guidelines to provide individual dietary and nutritional advice to clients who have medical/health conditions and set individual dietary goals with clients to work towards improving their lifestyle, health and quality of life. Jess is a massive foodie and enjoys talking about all things food. She is passionate about health and fitness and helping people improve their relationship with food.

Jen Mazy

Administrative Officer

Jen Mazy has joined our team as our Administrative Officer and has brought with her a new energy to our clinic as the first friendly face and voice when you arrive. Jenny enjoys yoga and brings a nurturing vibe as you may see with all the thriving plant life in our clinic.
